Tap & Tandoor Peterborough is the city's original Indian gastro pub, located on Cumbergate inside Queensgate Shopping Centre. Housed in the former Carluccio's, the space has been transformed with hand-painted beer murals, vintage mirrors and doors sourced from India, and a proper British fireplace — a unique blend of two cultures under one roof.

The menu focuses on quality at every level, from free-range meat to an extensive vegan and gluten-free selection. Whether you're after a leisurely Sunday lunch, a bottomless brunch with friends, or a craft beer and curry after a day's shopping, there's something on the menu for everyone — including a dedicated children's menu for families.

Can I walk in without a reservation, or do I need to book?+

We welcome walk-ins whenever we have space, but we strongly recommend booking ahead — especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, Monday quiz nights, and around live sports events. Booking online takes less than two minutes and guarantees your table. You can also call us on 01733 312 444 if you prefer.

How large a group can I book online?+

Our online booking system handles groups of up to 11 guests. For groups of 12 or more, please submit a group enquiry or call us on 01733 312 444 and we'll arrange everything for you.

Do you do Sunday lunch?+

Yes! We put our own Tap & Tandoor twist on the classic Sunday lunch — think bold Indian flavours and sharing plates rather than the traditional roast. It's a brilliant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Booking is essential; please reserve your table before 5pm on Saturday to guarantee your spot.

Do you cater for celebrations and special occasions?+

Absolutely. Our menu includes dedicated vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, as well as a children's menu. Please mention any dietary requirements when booking or speak to your server on arrival.

Is Tap & Tandoor Halal?+

No — Tap & Tandoor is not a Halal restaurant. We serve alcohol and our meat is not Halal-certified. We do however have an extensive vegetarian and vegan menu if you'd like to dine with us.

Is the restaurant dog-friendly?+

Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the restaurant. Please let us know when booking if you're bringing a dog and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Please note that during peak hours we may not always be able to guarantee a dog-friendly table, so we recommend booking in advance and letting us know.

Is there parking nearby and what time does it close?+

We're at Cumbergate, Queensgate Shopping Centre, Peterborough PE1 1YR. The Yellow car park is nearby but closes at 11:30pm — please plan accordingly for evening visits. Get directions on Google Maps.
