Tap & Tandoor Bournemouth is the town's most exciting place to eat, drink and play. On top of the award-winning craft beer, Indian cocktails and homestyle curries that Tap & Tandoor is known for across England, the Bournemouth venue adds darts and shuffleboard to the mix — making it a brilliant night out from start to finish.

Located on Richmond Hill in the heart of Bournemouth town centre, we're just 400 metres from the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), 200 metres from Bournemouth Beach, and a short stroll from the Bournemouth Oceanarium — making us the ideal spot before or after any event, show, or day by the sea.

Open from midday seven days a week, the ground floor is dog-friendly and the full kitchen menu runs through to late evening. Live sports shown across the venue, Monday quiz nights a firm local favourite, and private bookings for groups up to 10 can be made directly online.

Can I walk in without a reservation, or do I need to book?+

We welcome walk-ins whenever we have space, but we strongly recommend booking ahead — especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, Monday quiz nights, and around live sports events. Booking online takes less than two minutes and guarantees your table. You can also call us on 01202 028382 if you prefer.

How large a group can I book online?+

Our online booking system handles groups of up to 16 guests. For groups of 17 or more, please submit a group enquiry or call us on 01202 028382 and we'll arrange everything for you. We have private and semi-private areas available for larger parties.

Do you do Sunday lunch?+

Yes! We put our own Tap & Tandoor twist on the classic Sunday lunch — think bold Indian flavours and sharing plates rather than the traditional roast. It's a brilliant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Booking is essential; please reserve your table before 5pm on Saturday to guarantee your spot.

Do you offer private dining or venue hire for events?+

Can I book the darts or shuffleboard at the same time as a table?+

Yes — darts and shuffleboard can be booked separately via our Book Darts & Shuffleboard page. We recommend booking both together if you want a full evening, as the games area is popular and fills up quickly on weekends. You can eat, drink and play all under one roof.

Do you cater for dietary requirements — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free?+

Absolutely. Our menu includes dedicated vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Our team is trained to handle allergen queries, so please mention any dietary requirements when booking or speak to your server on arrival. We also have a dedicated Coeliac menu — just ask.

Is Tap & Tandoor Halal?+

No — Tap & Tandoor is not a Halal restaurant. We serve alcohol and our meat is not Halal-certified. We do however have an extensive vegetarian and vegan menu if you'd like to dine with us. If you have any questions about specific dishes or ingredients, please don't hesitate to speak to a member of our team before ordering.

Is the venue dog-friendly?+

Yes! Well-behaved dogs are very welcome on the ground floor and we love having them. Please let us know when booking if you're bringing a four-legged friend and we'll do our best to seat you accordingly. For the comfort and safety of all our guests — including your dog — we kindly ask that you avoid visiting with dogs during peak hours (after 5pm), when the venue gets busier and livelier. Earlier in the day is a much more relaxed time for a dog-friendly visit!

Is there parking nearby and how do I get here?+

We're on Richmond Hill, Bournemouth BH2 6HE — right in the town centre. The nearest car park is RCP The Square Car Park, just a short walk away. Bournemouth train station is a 10-minute walk, and we're well served by all major local bus routes.
